Immigrating to Canada

Immigrating to Canada is an exciting experience. It's a great opportunity for you and your family to enjoy a new culture and way of life.

Work with us

We'll help you with every step of the immigration process, from finding you the right job to completing all of the government paperwork.

Make sure you're eligible to immigrate.

Before you can begin the process of immigrating, you'll need to find out whether you are eligible. Canada has guidelines around who can immigrate and when, depending on current industry needs.

You can find out whether you will be eligible by visiting theĀ Government of Canada website.

Complete an English test and criminal background check.

In your home country, you'll need to complete an English test and have criminal background checks done. This can usually be done through your local government or police department.

You'll need both of these completed in order to apply for jobs in Canada.

You'll need to have enough money.

When you apply to immigrate, you'll pay a fee. The cost varies depending on where you're immigrating from and whether you'll be bringing family with you.

You'll also have to consider the amount of money you'll need to rent a home, for groceries, for transportation, and more.

Because you won't get paid immediately when you arrive, you will need to have some savings ready before you immigrate. There will likely be lots of one-time costs when you first move, like a damage deposit for your home rental, and purchasing furniture or a car.

You'll need a job offer.

Finding a job in Canada can be difficult if you're not a Canadian citizen, but you need a job offer in order to immigrate.

At Jobs Alberta, we work directly with many of Alberta's top employers. They are all interested in hiring workers from outside of Canada and are accepting of all different cultures.

We'll work with you to discover your skillset and figure out what jobs you'll be suited for. Once we find the right position for you, we hire you directly. When you have an offer, we'll help you apply to immigrate and ensure all of your paperwork is completed correctly.

You'll need to plan and prepare.

Once you know where you'll be moving, you'll need to start planning. Do some research on the city you'll be moving to so you understand how you'll get to work, what neighbourhood you might want to live in, and how you'll access everything you need.

You may want to arrange for temporary housing when you first arrive, as searching for a house or apartment rental is easier once you're in the city. Consider a motel or hotel for your first couple of weeks.

You'll need to act quickly.

Once you have an offer, you'll need to act quickly to apply for immigration. Once you're in the process, you will have to act quickly. If you miss any deadlines or make an error on your application, you might not be allowed to reapply.

We have lots of experience in helping people immigrate to Canada. We've completed this process hundreds of times, and will help you every step of the way.

You'll need to be open to change.

When you move here, you'll have a positive experience if you're open to change. Canada is a wonderful country that celebrates diversity, freedom, and acceptance. There are lots of different people from different cultures and countless options for food and shopping.

Canada might be very different from your home country, but there are lots of ways that you can celebrate your culture, religious beliefs, and traditions. Because so many people immigrate to Canada, in the major cities you will find festivals and religious groups for nearly every culture in the world.
